Optical Design

In LED optical design, our company distinguishes between two main areas: "near-field optics" and "far-field optics." Generally speaking, optical components for near-field optical applications have dimensions very close to the light source or are used at very short distances from the emitter. The most representative application of near-field optics is the TV lens for direct-lit backlighting type. Some lens used in LED lighting, due to the size of lens is larger or the position of one is longer distances far away emitter, shows optical characteristics closer to far-field optics. The results between design and actual performance are identical. Far-field applications are often seen in indoor or outdoor luminaires layout designs. It can use intensity distributions files loaded into lighting analysis software like Dialux.
